Dwarka. It started raining in Saurashtra, including Rajkot, on Monday morning. Residents of Rajkot city were relieved when it finally started raining. Ranavav taluka of Porbandar district received 1.5 inches of rain, Porbandar received 0.5 inches and Kutiyana received 1.5 inches of rain. While Amreli in Amreli district received 2 inches, Khambha 2 inches, Wadia 2 inches, Savarkundla 2 inches, Jafrabad two and a half inches, Rajula 1 inch, Lathi 1 inch, Dhari half inch, Babra one and half inch, Basgara one and half inch and Lilia one and half inch rain.
Due to incessant rains, all the rivers of South Saurashtra have come alive. And water is starting to flow into all the reservoirs. It has overflowed Willingdon Dam of Junagadh, Anandpur Dam, Rasala Dam of Manavadar, Bantwa Kharo Dam, Sorathi of Porbandar, Medhakrik and Fodala Dam. So 3 gates of Ozat-2 dam of Junagadh have been opened. The water of Sabli river had penetrated into the Malbapa temple of Manekwada on Junagadh-Veraval highway. In Keshod's Ghed Bamanasa, the bridge from the village to the farm collapsed. The river Shetrunji in Amreli district also became Ganditur.
The Gohilwad panth received light to heavy rains up to two inches even today. Two inches of rain fell in Mahuva panchk and one inch in Talaja early in the morning. Half an inch of rain fell in Gariadhar. Megho Meherban on East Kutch, 5 inches in Bhachau, Gandhidham, 2 inches in Anjar and 1.5 inches in Rapar, half an inch in Bhuj and half an inch in Mundra.
Valsad district in South Gujarat received an average rainfall of one and a half to two and a half inches. Navsari received 3 inches and Surat district received 1.5 inches of rain. Ankleshwar received 1.5 inches of rain from night till 4 pm.
