Lockdown in Surat in 48 hours? Policy Commission-AIIMS team makes recommendation? Find out the facts behind this

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) of 
the govt of India has clarified that the news that a lockdown are going to be imposed in Surat within the next 48 hours is different from the reality and misleading. News is circulating that a policy commission sent by the central government and a team from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have recommended a lockdown in Surat.

Lockdown in Surat Such reports claimed that a policy commission sent by the central government and a team from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) had recommended a lockdown within the city after a visit to Surat. This clarification has been made by the PIB following the clarification made by the Policy Commission and therefore the Union Ministry of Health. Such reports were published in some newspapers but the central government has termed these rumors.


Private doctors from Surat presented the lockdown to the team. in sight of the deteriorating situation within the city, the AIIMS team visited Ahmedabad to debate things in Surat. it's since recommended the central government to lockdown again in Surat. The report claimed that a team from the Centre's policy commission and therefore the director of AIIMS were in Surat to require stock of the deteriorating situation within the city thanks to corona. The team consisted of Vinod Pal, Member, Policy Commission, Dr. Balram Bhargava, DG, ICMR, Dr. Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS, and Artiben Ahuja, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health, Government of India.

As a result, the cycle of announcing lockdown in Surat within the next 48 hours has gained momentum. The central government has termed the report as misleading and untrue.
