Chennai. Work from home culture is growing in Corona. Software product company Joho is working on a 'work from village' model. The company has recently opened a new office in Sundari village in Tenkasi district, 650 km from Chennai. There are currently 20 employees working here. This is its third office in a small village in South India. The company is set to open 7 new Village offices soon. The company started its office in 2016 in Matthalamparai village in Tenkasi district, where today more than 500 employees are working. A similar office was opened in Renigunta in Andhra Pradesh's Chittur district with 120 employees.

"We have offices in the US, Japan, China, Singapore, Mexico, Australia, the Netherlands and the UAE, but now we are building offices in smaller villages," said Rajendran Dandpani, technology director at Jeho, a company with 9,300 employees worldwide. The idea belongs to Shridhar Wembuno, CEO of the company. Born in a village near Kumbakonam, Wembu finds the village lifestyle easier to work with. Before shifting to Tenkasi in October last year, Wembu was handling the company from his San Jose office in the United States. He did his PhD at Princeton University in the US after graduating from IIT Madras in 1989. They do not consider it appropriate to flee the city for a job. Wants to give a chance to the talent of the village. At the same time it wants to keep employees free from the stressful lifestyles of cities.

Dandpani said that with our arrival, good roads, schools, hotels, auto stands and temples have been built in the village and a lot has changed socially. Some local girls are also working in this office.

The family did not want to send him to the city for a job, but when we offered to stay and work in the village, he immediately agreed. Today many boys and girls of the village are working happily here.

"The company has opened Joho University, imparting skill training to the people," Dandpani said. No fees are charged. 90% of the students are from Tamil Nadu. 875 students have graduated from this school and got jobs in Joho company.

 Dandpani's son himself has also studied here and got a job in the company. The company had revenue of Rs 3,410 crore in 2019, with a net profit of Rs 516 crore. The company was started in 1996 under the name Advent. Named Joho in 2009.
