Gujarat government waives 25% school fees

Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama made a big announcement on the fee issue after a meeting of the Gujarat Cabinet today.

The state government has announced a 25 percent relief in school fees. There will be a 25 percent discount on fees for the entire academic year. Fees for other school activities will not be charged. The decision of a 25% fee waiver will be applicable in Gujarat Board and CBSE schools.

Those who have paid more will have to reimburse the fee.

Violent protests are taking place in Ahmedabad on the issue of fee waiver. In Ahmedabad, there has been fierce opposition from parents and guardians. The 100 percent fee waiver was protested with posters. There was a protest before Bhupendrasinh announced Chudasama.

Protest over the fee in Patan

The protest was staged by the Gujarat Jan Adhikar Manch. A protest was staged outside the Patan Collector’s Office. The students were given an application form to the Collector demanding a 50 percent fee waiver. There was a hint of agitation if students were not given a 50 percent fee waiver.
