More than 4 million people have registered in the Atal Pension Scheme (APY) till November 13 in this financial year (2020-21). According to the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), the total number of customers in the Atal Pension Scheme has reached 2.63 crore. Under the Atal Pension Scheme, on reaching the age of 60, one gets a pension of Rs.1000 to Rs.5000 per month.

What is Atal Pension Scheme?
Under the Atal Pension Scheme, a person gets a pension of Rs.1000 to Rs.5000 per month on reaching the age of 60 years. It can be invested by a person between the ages of 18 and 40. Subscribers will have to pay Rs 42 to Rs 210 per month to get a pension of Rs 1 to 5 present per month.
Most APY accounts opened in SBI
According to PFRDA, the highest number of registrations for the scheme has been made in the State Bank of India (SBI) from April 1 to November 13 in the current financial year. More than 1 million people have registered for it with SBI. More than 1 lakh new APY accounts have been opened in Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Central Bank of India, Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Airtel Payments Bank, Punjab National Bank, Axis Bank and Indian Overseas Bank.
