Kevadia, which has the gigantic 'Statue of Unity' of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, son of Panota of Gujarat, is attracting more tourists than the Statue of Liberty of America. The place has now become an international family holiday destination, with all the facilities available for children, such as a nutrition park, camping along with a health forest and river rafting. A senior official here has made this claim.

Rajiv Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of Gujarat, has been involved in the development plan of Kevadia Colony from the very beginning.
He says the Prime Minister's vision was to develop the place as a model tourist destination with the whole family in mind. It was later developed as a tourist destination in view of Kevadia's ecology and its heritage.
