Sattu ... the name must have been heard. The most famous are in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand, which can be eaten and drunk. It is also called Bihari fast food, a fast food that does not cause any side effects. Sattu is also used to make a variety of delicious dishes, ranging from litti-rice to sattu paratha, which are now popular among people across the country.

In Bihar, there is also a folk festival by its name which is celebrated in the month of April, which is called Sattuan. In this story, we are referring to Sattu because the goal of the life of the person we are going to talk about in today's Khuddari is to spread Sattu all over the world.

Sachin Kumar, a resident of Madhubani district of Bihar, left his settled job in Mumbai and returned to his village to make Bihar's famous Sattu world famous and started a startup called Sattuz. Sachin makes a variety of products by processing Sattu, including Sattu Powder, Readymade Energy Drink and Litty-Rice Readymade Masala.



Sachin has also undergone food processing training for proper processing of Sattu, so that all the items in his products are in proper proportions.

Sachin says that Paulo Coelho wrote in his book The Alchemist, "And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." And we have heard the Hindi version of it in Shah Rukh Khan's film that, "If you want something intensely, the whole universe takes you to meet it." So something similar happened to me, luckily we got our first packet on 14th April 2018. After which we launched our own brand Sattuz under our company Go Rural Food Beverages on the same day.

returned to his hometown and started a pilot study on Sattu . My family had a retail business. In the meantime I felt that in the business we are doing, we are importing goods and selling them in Bihar, but we are not selling a single item of Bihar outside Bihar. It was during the study period that I wanted to do something that would make Bihar famous, but it was not easy.

After completing his MBA, Sachin got a job in a good place in Mumbai. He also got a chance to go to America a few years later, but his mind was not on the job. He wanted to do something of his own on his Bihar land. In 2008, Sachin quit his job and returned home. No one in the house was happy with Sachin's decision. In the meantime, he was always trying to find something around him that would help him create a distinct identity in Bihar. Their search ended with Sattu.

Tendulkar says the ready mix drink is gluten free, vegan and preservative free. This is also a good and healthy option of carbonated drinks.

Since 2016, Sachin has started a pilot study on Sattu. They traveled to different cities to find out how much people knew about Sattu. "In the meantime, we have come across a lot of shocking information," he said. If one did not know how to make sattu, then one did not have enough time to make sattu by collecting all the things. We then decided that we would launch Sattu in the market as a ready-to-make drink. We made a small drink pack that can be easily kept together while traveling. '

Sachin also took food processing training for proper processing of Sattu, so that all the items in his products are in the right quantity. After which they prepared the product and also got FSSAI certification. Because the new generation found the power very boring, we packed our product just like any other drink. '







Initially, Tendulkar launched three flavors of Sattu in the market, including Jaljira, Sweet and Chocolate flavors. Prices ranged from Rs 20 to Rs 120, in packing bottles and cans. Along with this a glass of paper and a spoon were also given. So that the customer has to mix and drink the powder and water in a glass. Tendulkar says the ready mix drink is gluten free, vegan and preservative free. This is also a good and healthy option of carbonated drinks.



Sattuz is Bihar's first startup to receive funding from IAN and BIA. For





"I met Hari Balasubramaniam, a very big investor from the Indian Angel Network, at an event," says Sachin. I drank a glass of sattu to Hari Sir there. Within 5 minutes they gave us a commitment that they would fund our startup. I never thought that any kind of business proposal, PPT, would get commitment just by looking at the product in the slides and also by drinking the power. They immediately called the BIA, after which the Bihar Industry Association also decided why not invest in Bihar startups.


Today, 10 people work in Sachin's company. Delivering its products across the country with the help of online platform and its own website. Sachin has written Made in Bihar on every one of his products. In the last financial year, Sachin's company had a revenue of Rs 10 lakh. So despite the lockdown this year, his company crossed the figure in November.
