People in the city have experienced earthquakes. The quake struck at 3.40 pm. A magnitude 4.3 earthquake shook the region including Surat. The quake affected people in all parts of the city, including Adajan. So people rushed out of the house.

living in tall buildings were more affected by the quake . People living on the seventh to eighth floors had to experience the quake for more than four seconds. So fear spread among the people and people living in tall buildings rushed down. However people breathed a sigh of relief as the tremors were normal.
