A new strain of corona found in Britain has infected 7 people in India. All have returned from Britain, including three in Bengaluru, two in Hyderabad and one in Pune. According to the ministry, between November 25 and December 23, a total of 33,000 tourists arrived at various Indian airports from Britain, with 114 crore infected so far. At present all these are kept in isolation in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala and Goa. Their samples have been sent for second phase investigation i.e. genome sequencing. So far a new strain of corona has been found in six people, spreading 70% faster than the original form.
A child infected
in UP has so far found new strains of corona virus in seven people in India. All of these had recently returned from Britain. Of these, new strains have been confirmed in one sample each from UP, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The other three patients are from Karnataka. Along with this, information is also being received that a child in Uttar Pradesh has been confirmed to have a new strain. He is a resident of Meerut and had recently returned from Britain with his family. Meerut District Magistrate K Balaji said all the family members were in good health.
Two more dangerous variants of the corona virus have been found in Britain so far. The Indian government had on December 21 banned flights from Britain after the first variant was found. The ban has been imposed from 11.59 pm on December 22 to 11.59 pm on December 31. Those who had earlier flown to India underwent RT-PCR tests at the airport.

Flights to and
