The city will have 100 PIs, 3500 constables on duty at night
Tonight, Ahmedabadis cannot celebrate December 31. Strict action will be taken by the police if any person is caught wandering outside the house after 9 pm. Security has been beefed up at 28 entry points in Ahmedabad today. There will be 100 PIs, 3500 constables on duty in the city at night, as well as anyone who has gone out of town will have to arrive before 9 p.m. Strict action will be taken if anyone appears outside after 9 pm and the person will be locked up all night.
All those arrested will be medically examined by the
DCP of the police control room. Harshad Patel said those who came out without an emergency would be thrown in jail. The city's 30 entry-exit points will be locked from 9 pm, while 250 to 300 blockade points inside the city will also be cordoned off by police from 9 pm, as well as hotels and farmhouses.
If any person is caught in a state of intoxication, a direct case will be lodged with him, as well as those who enter Ahmedabad after 9 pm and if found suspicious, will be rushed to the hospital. If any person appears on the city road after 9 pm, he will capture the photo based on the CCTV camera and send it to the local police station. All those caught will be medically examined.
Officers and staff of local police, crime branch, SOG and other agencies will be on duty at all these places from 7 pm on the night of 31st to prevent people from gathering at places including CG Road, SG Highway, Kankaria, Riverfront.
Police arrested 2 with 7 tins of beer in Oganj in the evening of the 30th and instructed all the farm houses not to have any party. Later that night police conducted a surprise check on the farm house, from which two were caught with 7 tins of beer from a farm in Oganj.
