monsoon prepares to leave Gujarat, the meteorological department has forecast light to moderate rains in parts of Central Gujarat, South Gujarat and Saurashtra from October 15 to 17. Amreli-Bhavnagar in Saurashtra and South Gujarat are expected to receive heavy rains between October 16 and 17.

Irrigation Department stated that Sardar Sarovar reservoir has a storage of 2,93,503 mcft of water, which is 87.85 per cent of the total storage capacity. The 205 reservoirs in the state have a storage of 5.35.298 mcft of water, which is 96.10 per cent of the total storage capacity. At present, there are 173 reservoirs of high alert, 10 reservoirs of alert and 52.05 reservoirs in the state.
