Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani has taken an important decision to provide foodgrains at concessional rates to 10 lakh more families in the state under the Food Security Act. It is worth mentioning that this decision will benefit as many as 20 lakh poor and common people. It is noteworthy that now all the benefits due to NFSA will be extended to this additional 10 lakh families.

All Divyang, Ganga Swarupa sisters, beneficiaries of Vadh Pension Assistance Scheme in the state will also be given the benefit of this food distribution, as well as BPL families who are not covered under NFSA will now also get benefits under the Food Security Act.

It may be noted that the Chief Minister has decided to cover the distribution of foodgrains at concessional rates to the rickshaw pullers, chakdo, mini tempo drivers living in the cities and villages of Gujarat.
On the other hand, construction workers will be given NFSA benefits to the registered construction workers of the Construction Workers Welfare Board and foodgrains will be distributed at a concessional rate.
