Ratan Tata was also surprised by Kang's spirit.
Even after the attack, Ratan Tata said, "I went to Kang and told him how sad you are. He said, 'Sir, we are going to make the crown as before.' Tata was annoyed to hear this answer. The then President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, honored Kang with the Medal of Officer of the National Order of Merit for his bravery. There were also French people in the hotel at the time of the attack.
When fire brigade personnel reached Kang's family, it was too late. A
fire broke out in a room on the sixth floor of the Taj Hotel after the terrorist attack, killing Kang's wife and two children. His screams could be heard far outside. Kang was talking to every policeman and fire brigade personnel to get them out safely. Kang had a double responsibility at the time.
The first responsibility is to keep his family safe and the second is to coordinate with security agencies to rescue the rest of the people trapped in the hotel. Many lives were saved with the help of Kang. However, when firefighters arrived at the room, Kang's wife and two children were burned to death.
Karambir made the name meaningful, his father also
emboldened. On the night of the terror attack, when Kang called his father in Bahrain, he emboldened him by saying that he had become a brave Sikh. You are the son of an Army General. Fear of the death of his wife and children did not shake Kang. He accepted this as luck. In this way Karambir proved the significance of his name.
