On the last day of the 13th season of the IPL, the Ambani and Jindal family, including South superstar Mohanlal, arrived to watch the final match. Mumbai Indians won the cup for the 5th time by defeating Delhi Capitals in the final. Rohit Sharma lifted the IPL trophy for the 5th time as captain and for the sixth time as a player. Apart from Mumbai, Rohit Sharma was part of the 2009 winning Deccan Chargers team.

In the match, Rohit added Jayant Yadav to the team for Delhi left-handed batsman. Jayant took full advantage of the situation and showed in-form bowler Shikhar Dhawan the way to the pavilion. With Dhawan out in the middle, Delhi could not make a big score and Mumbai easily won the match.
