The main points of the bill

Yogi Adityanath said during the Assembly by-elections that a law would be brought against love-jihad in the state for the purpose of providing protection to women. Efforts are underway to bring such laws in Haryana, Karnataka and some other BJP-ruled states.
Uttar Pradesh was the first state in the country where the law was passed. UP has a provision to register a case under non-bailable clauses and a maximum sentence of 10 years under this Act.
