80 to 90 percent water storage in 11 dams of Saurashtra


The state has been experiencing rainy weather for the last one week. Megharaja is raining incessantly, especially in Kutch and Saurashtra. It has been raining for four days, especially in Saurashtra. Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Amreli, Junagadh, Porbandar and Rajkot have received heavy rains. Due to continuous Meghavi Maher, new water has come in the reservoirs of Saurashtra. It has been 20 days since the onset of monsoon and 36 dams in Saurashtra have seen heavy inflows. Of these, 12 dams are 100 per cent full, 13 dams are 90 per cent full and 11 dams are 80 to 90 per cent full. In the list of daily reservoir levels presented in the Water Resources Department's website, 25 out of 36 dams have been declared high alert as the water level is more than 90 per cent. While 11 dams have been kept on alert.

Happiness among farmers with new water
On the one hand, due to continuous heavy rains in Saurashtra, many villages are in a flood-like condition. The rivers have become Ganditur. On the other hand, farmers and Saurashtra residents are seeing a wave of happiness due to increasing water revenue in reservoirs. Water scarcity is common in Saurashtra. But the monsoon has been going well for the last two seasons and this time more than 80 per cent water has been stored in the reservoirs from the very beginning.
