Micromax was involved in smartphone shipments until 2016, now the company has made a comeback



The Kovid-19 epidemic has hit most of the country's industry hard. The smartphone market has also seen a lot of ups and downs this year. The smartphone industry has been hit this year amid protests from Chinese companies. However, the figures for the last 2 months are reassuring. Hopefully by the end of the year the train will be back.

Chinese companies dominated the smartphone market amid rumors that the coronavirus came from China and a scuffle between Chinese troops and our troops. Companies like Xiaomi, Realmy, Vivo and Oppo ranked in the top 5 during the year. However, Samsung also benefited in the meantime.

Samsung ranked first in the
third quarter During the third quarter of the year (July-September), Samsung ranked first in the smartphone shipment market share. Samsung's market share plummeted from number one to number two. Vivo, Realmy and Oppo also found their place in the list.

If we talk about the smartphone shipment market share in India, it is clear that Xiaomi's graph has increased compared to 2019. The company's market share was 29% in the first quarter of 2019, rising to 30% in the first quarter of 2020. Similarly, the company's market share rose 1% in the second quarter. However, it declined by 3% in the third quarter.

Similarly, Vivo, Oppo and Realmy smartphone shipment market share has also increased in the first and second quarters of 2020 as compared to the first and second quarters of 2019. These figures have definitely dropped in the third quarter. However, Oppo's market share has increased by 2%. Samsung's figures were worse in the first quarter of 2020 than in 2019, and have improved slightly in the second and third quarters of this year.


Note: As of 2016, the Indian smartphone shipment market was dominated by Micromax and Lenovo. After the year 2017, it was replaced by Realmy. However, Micromax has once again made a comeback with the in-series. 

Got the benefit of the festive season

The festive season has benefited the Indian smartphone market. Online retailers have seen tremendous growth, especially due to Kovid.


Shares of online retailers reached an all-time high of 48% during the period. On an annual basis, it has increased by 24%. Customers also got other discounts along with online bank offers.




Offline channels grew 11% after the first six months of the year. With the new launch, there was a severe shortage of supply in offline channels.


Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) have launched low-cost smartphones. He launched more phones with quad cameras, high MP counts (48MP and more), more storage (64GB and more), and larger batteries (5000mAh).
